1. good afternoon, father; my name is angela, and it has been 2 1/2 days since my last cigarette.
2. we found both books i was looking for (The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, and The Gospels of Mary Magdalene). within about 45 seconds of each other.
what LOTR: The Return... was doing (along with LOTR: The Two Towers) shoved into the space between the mattresses and the wall, i'll never know.
now, if we could only magically buy a house in the next month, and move, so i could unpack (and shelve prominently) all of my books.
3. it has also been 2 1/2 days since jeremy's last cigarette. we have done the math (jeremy has done the math) and we estimate that not smoking will net an additional three hundred dollars a month.
sick.
as jeremy said last night, we may as well have been rolling up twenties and smoking those.
no kidding.
4. covered in crayola washable paints. as is evie--hence little bear being in the tub at 12:17 p.m. on a saturday afternoon, after she had a bath yesterday (when she was with jeremy's parents).
she's definitely more abstract expressionist at this point.
5. has anyone read the red tent, by anita diamant? there's a copy sitting here by the computer....thinking of adding it to my list of books to read.
also, to add to the list:
the poisonwood bible, barbara kingsolver
more milan kundera
the corrections, jonathan franzen
alice sheldon/ james tiptree, jr.
evie just told me "buh-bye" (as in the old david spade Saturday Night Live bit), and so i should also say the same to you.
the ever-titillating world of laundry awaits.
