this sweet little girl
is home sick for the second day in a row--although at least today she isn't running a fever. (or as she says, FEBER, while pointing to the centermost point of her forehead.) she did wake up at 5:30 this morning (i think that's an unholy, early hour!) and crawl into bed with us, which is pleasant enough. not pleasant? hearing her stomach gurgle and realize she was about to vomit on us. of course, i've long lost my squeamishness about being vomited upon, especially by my daughter (ask me about the great puke weekend of july 2006) but jeremy herded the little one into the bathroom all the same. poor girl had the dry heaves. sigh. hence, i am home with her today. happy birthday to me!
adding to the fun: beans was neutered on tuesday and came home wednesday evening. he is wearing a giant cone, isn't supposed to jump or use the stairs, and can't have a bath! the bath moratorium wouldn't be so annoying, except that he has peed on himself in excitement a few times (first when jeremy and evie picked him up, then upon seeing me...although he mostly just peed all over my pants and foot!) and that damn cone is stinky too. never a dull moment here.
and yet i am more than happy to stay home with these two ailing toddlers!
by the way, we took beans to the vet over the weekend (poor little man had puppy worms, so he was eating like crazy but not getting fat!) and he is definitely 4 months or younger. and he weighs 45 pounds. and looks to be mixed with mastiff. and he will more than likely grow more rapidly now that the worms are gone. the vet told us to double his weight at 6 months to calculate his adult weight...well, even at his current weight, that would mean a low estimate of 90 punds, which puts him into the "giant breed" category. yes! he will be evie's own clifford!
and there is the pitter patter of evie feet....i'll pst a photo of beans and his cone soon. i like to call him conehead the barbarian. ha!
